25 - 30 APRIL  2006





Event  :  ROLEX IGFA INTERNATIONAL GAMES FISHING TOURNAMENT

Date    :   25 - 30 April 2006
Venue  :  Labuan - Pulau Layang-Layang

This prestigious deep sea fishing tournament in the Asian region is part of the Rolex/IGFA Offshore Championship qualifying round also offers the biggest prize money in the region.  The winning team will qualify to participate in the finals of the Rolex/IGFA Offshore Championship held either in Mexico or Hawaii.

28 - 29 APRIL 2006

Event  :  LABUAN INTERNATIONAL EXTREME KAYAK CHALLENGE
Date    :  28 - 29 April 2006
Venue :  Labuan - Sipitang - Labuan

A kayak race designed for the highly skilled kayaker.  The race will be in a double format covering a distance of 84 km across the Brunei Bay, starting from Labuan to Sipitang and back.  Participants are provided with special ocean going kayaks by the organisers.  Winners can take home more than RM20,000 in cash prizes and trophies.

Event  :   CROSS CHANNEL SWIMMING CHALLENGE

Date    :   29 April 2006
Venue  :  Labuan - Pulau Papan - Labuan

The swim spans 5.4 km of open sea towards Pulau Papan and back to Labuan.  Local and international swimmers vie to break past year's speed records and set new times in the domestic and open categories.  Prizes are worth more than RM20,000 in cash and trophies.

29 - 30 APRIL 2006

Event  :  NUSANTARA CANOE RACE
Date    :  29 - 30 April 2006
Venue :  Labuan International Sea Sports Complex 

A test of mental and physical strength of local and visiting oarsman from the BIMP-EAGA region to compete for cash prizes and trophies worth more than RM20,000.  Supporters of various participating teams can also take part in a unique "Canoe tug-of-war" where the strongest team will take home some attractive prizes.

Event  :  ROUND ISLAND KAYAK CHALLENGE

Date    :  30 April 2006
Venue :  Round Labuan Island

This race is one of the longest and toughest in Malaysia comprising the individual and double categories.  The course is 50 km long and runs along the perimeter shoreline of Labuan Island.  It tests the skills and stamina of local and international contestants, including those from the BIMP-EAGA region.  Prizes are worth more than RM20,000.
