General Information

Background
Labuan Corporation is organizing a tourism and trade mission to Taipei and Shanghai from 1st September to 9th September 2002. Its objective is to promote Labuan as a niche destination for second home, incentive, convalescent vacations, fishing, Borneo adventure, education and offshore finance.

YBhg. Tan Sri Othman Bin Rijjal, the chairman of Labuan Corporation, shall lead this tourism and trade mission. The delegation shall leave Labuan to Kota Kinabalu for the connecting flight to Taipei on 1st September 2002.

The main program consists of a two-day tourism and business road show, a half-day travel and business seminar, private luncheon and business networking in each of these target markets.

Registration Form
The completed registration form for participation in the Tourism and Trade Mission to Taipei and Shanghai must be submitted to Labuan Corporation, tourism and culture division, on or before 31st July 2002. Registration Form

Deadline For Registration
The deadline for confirmation of participation is 31st July 2002. The passport must also be submitted for application of visa not later than 5th August 2002 to Mandarin Tours and Travel Sdn Bhd with payment of RM230-00 for visa application.

Photograph
Each participant is required to submit to the organizer, three (3) color passport sized (head & shoulder) photograph for visa application (Two for Taipei and one for Shanghai). Name of participant must be written at the back of the photograph, using pen with non-smudge ink. The photographs must be submitted with the registration form.

Visa Application
Visa application must be made on the forms provided. Please complete the forms and submit to the organizer with your passport on or before 10th August 2002.

Company's Profile
Please submit your company profile for inclusion in the "seller - buyer directory", which will be published in connection with the trade mission.

d. Invitation to attend a trade luncheon on 4th September 2002 in Taipei and 6th September 2002 in Shanghai;
e. Listing of your company profile in the buyers - sellers directory.

Free Exhibition Space
Participating companies do not have to pay for the exhibition space at the tourism and business road show. Each company is given one table and two chairs free of rental for the duration of the exhibition in Taipei and Shanghai. However, they must pay for their own set up, display and dismantling expenses incurred. Please contact event organizer for details of storage, set up and manning their displays at the exhibition fairground.

Free Seminar Participation
Participating companies are allowed to send four representatives to attend the Labuan travel & business seminar. They can also attend the trade luncheon and business networking session at no additional charges.

Other expenses
All other expenses, except for airport transfers, exhibition space rental, seminar participation, have to be borne by the participant. Participants traveling on their own will have to make their own arrangement for transportation from airport to the hotel and back.

Payments
For those wishing to stay in the same hotel as Labuan Corporation's delegation, payment may be made to the event organizer at the time of registration / confirmation of participation.
