  World-class watersports complex launched 
  LABUAN:  The Yang di Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail launched the Labuan International Sea Sports Complex located near the beach at Jalan Tanjung Purun, near here.

Also present at the launch were Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Fauziah Tengku Abdul Rashid and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Azlan Ibni Sultan Abu Bakar.

Construction on the RM25 million complex. located on a six-hectare site, began in 2000 and was fully completed in May 2001.

Earlier, Labuan Corporation Chairman Tan Sri Othman Mohammad Rijal said in his speech that the Sea Sports complex was built to be of International standard. It provided an opportunity to the public to enjoy yet another rich tourism product which was well landscaped and has good aesthetic qualities.

He said facilities in the complex included the main plaza, marine museum, lookout tower, exhibition hall and food court.

We also use six rooms to store boats and kayaks and the front can be used to disply jetski for visitors," he said, adding that various development projects were ongoing in Labuan.

These included the construction of a consolidated port in Rancha-Rancha, a ferry services and terminal for passengers, and a low-cost project in Kampung Tanggarak.
